Second Wind

Contact

Where we are, and when.

The phone is answered by whoever is in. If nobody picks up it is because we are with somebody, and we will ring back the same day.

A modest neighbourhood storefront office at dusk seen from the sidewalk, warm light spilling through the glass onto wet pavement.
  • Getting here

On Lorain Avenue between West 33rd and West 35th, above the shoe repair. Free street parking on West 34th, and the RTA 22 stops outside. The entrance is the green door, not the shop door.

  • Access

There are four steps up to the office and no lift, which we are not happy about. If that does not work for you, say so and we will meet you downstairs, at the library on West 25th, or at your kitchen table. It is the same conversation.

  • Languages

English and Spanish, both by a person rather than a phone service. Ask for Tomás if Spanish is easier, and say so when you call so we do not put you through twice.

  • What to bring

Nothing. Genuinely nothing. If you happen to have any letters from collectors, bring them in whatever state they are in — unopened is fine, and common.

Or just turn up.

Somebody is usually in between nine and six, Monday to Thursday. You will not be turned away for not having an appointment, and you will not be asked for anything at the door.
